Best practice is to combine 'Job Title' and 'Keyword search' to yield the best results. Here's how it's done...

The HR DataHub platform contains 30million+ job postings and this number grows daily.

We aren't just trying to find a high number of results, we want accurate results.

Some considerations of the role you're trying to benchmark...

  • Should we include additional job titles to broaden our search?

  • Are there qualifications which are critical to this role?

  • Are there specific work requirements e.g. over time, night shifts?

For certain roles the job title rarely changes and so we can type these straight in and get accurate results (e.g. driver, administrator).

For other roles, 3 separate companies may hire for a very similar role but they all call it a different name (e.g. Head of Operations, COO, Chief Operations Officer). This is when we need to leverage job title search against keyword search.

In doing so, we cast the net wide and then refine our search. Let's take a look at some quick examples of how it's done;
