We’ve upgraded how we showcase the most important data points and trends for your search, so that you can quickly get a snapshot of the topline insights without having to spend time digging down into the data.
Pay Trends insights
On the left, these insights display your pay trend insights – including the median, lower and upper quartiles for your search, as well as the percentage (%) change in the median over your selected time period.
For the median salary, we take the midpoint of any salary range (e.g. advertised salary range is £60,000-70,000, we use £65,000).
If the total number of job posts is odd then we order the salaries in ascending order and take the middle figure
E.g. £15,000, £16,000 and £17,000. The median = £16,000.
If the total is even, then we use the same ascending order but we add the middle two figures and divide by 2.
E.g. £15,000, £15,500, £16,000, £17,000. The median = (£15,500 + £16,000) / 2 = £15,750
Job Post insights
On the right, you will find the number of total jobs advertised for your search, as well as the percentage (%) change in number of job postings from start to end of your selected time period.
