
What is EIS?
The Employment Insurance System, (EIS) was implemented in January 2018 as a social security network aimed at helping workers who lost their jobs for financial assistance and seeking new jobs by PERKESO.

All private sector employers need to pay monthly contributions for each employee.(Exempt from civil servants, domestic servants and self-employed).
The contribution rate for the Employment Insurance System (EIS) is from 0.2% of employer shares and 0.2% of the employee's share of the employee's monthly salary.
All employees aged 18 years to 60 years old must be nominated except for employees aged 57 years and above and no contribution has been paid before reaching 57 years.

How to Pay EIS
You'll need to register with PERKESO if this is the first time you contribute EIS for your employees. Be sure you've filled up SIP 1A and SIP 2A forms. For new employees that hasn't yet contributed to SOCSO, you will need to fill up form SIP 2. Please submit the completed forms at any SOCSO branch near you. You may also contact PERKESO directly at perkeso@perkeso.gov.my.
Upon registering, to make EIS payment, kindly log in to the PERKESO Assist Portal here. Update the contribution information and generate ECR for EIS contribution payment.
Payment Options for EIS
1. Financial Process Exchange (FPX)
You may refer to the EIS submission User Guide on how to make payment via FPX.
2. Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
For EFT payment, you may need to contact PERKESO's customer service at 1-300-22-8000 or email to perkeso@perkeso.gov.my for more information.
3. Cheque or money post
Prepare cheque or money post with the amount as shown in the ECR. Ensure that the details are complete as follows:
a. Date is within the validity period;
b. Payable to PERTUBUHAN KESELAMATAN SOSIAL or PERKESO;
c. The amount written in words must be the same with the figures;
d. Has been signed;
e. No amendments has been made to cheque or money post;
f. Name, employer code number, month and year of contribution as well as contact number should be recorded at the back of the cheque or money post;
g. The amount on cheque or money post should be the same as the payable amount;
h. Only use one payment medium for each transaction.
For payments via cheque or money post, prepare:
a. Payment receipt of cheque or money post
b. A copy of ECR
and proceed to post to the nearby SOCSO office (refer address here) or go to the nearby SOCSO office with the necessary documents stated above.
4. Bank Counter
Employers may also pay EIS contributions at the counters of the following banks:
a. Maybank
b. RHB Bank
c. Public Bank
