Segments are smart, rule-based groups of creators. Instead of building a list by hand, you set the rules once (for example, "everyone who drove over $5k last month" or "creators who took a sample but never posted") and Hubfluence keeps the group up to date for you. The real power is that a Segment can auto-route the creators inside it into an Outreach Sequence, so re-engagement runs in the background instead of sitting on a someday list.
What a Segment actually is
A Segment is a behavior-based group that updates itself. You define the criteria, and any creator who matches drops into the Segment automatically as their data changes. Nobody has to remember to add or remove people.
That is the difference from a one-time export or a static spreadsheet. A Segment is always current, which is what makes it safe to attach automation to.
What you can build with Segments
Most brands run Segments to catch creators who slipped through the cracks. Common examples include:
Creators who took a sample but never posted.
Creators who posted once and went quiet.
Creators who have not posted in 30+ days.
Creators who hit a GMV threshold but stopped engaging.
Creators who applied to a Campaign but were not approved (warm leads for the next one).
Each of these is a group you would normally have to rebuild every week by hand. A Segment keeps it live so you can act on it any time.
How Segments work with Sequences
This is where Segments earn their keep. Build the Segment, attach an Outreach Sequence (a re-engagement message, a community invite, a product update, a new Campaign launch, whatever fits), and Hubfluence handles the messaging in the background.
So instead of "we should follow up with the silent creators someday," it just happens. Outreach Sequences handle first-touch outreach, and Segments handle re-engagement of creators you already know.
Segments vs Creator Lists
These two get mixed up, so here is the clean split. Creator Lists are saved from your Creator Database filters: you find creators by niche, GMV, and content style, then save that filter combination as a reusable List for outreach.
Segments are grouped by behavior and are built for re-engaging creators already in your program. In practice you use Lists to source and Sequences to reach out, and Segments to automatically pull the right people back in based on what they did (or did not) do.
Managing Segments with AI
If you have the MCP integration connected to Claude or Codex, you can build, read, update, and delete Segments with plain-English commands. That means you can spin up a group like "creators who drove over $5k last month but have gone quiet" without touching the filters yourself.
