What the levels are based on
Levels are calculated purely on GMV, the total sales a creator has driven on TikTok Shop over the trailing 30 days. It is a rolling window, so a creator's level moves up or down as their recent sales change. A creator who has a big month can jump a level, and one who goes quiet can drop back down.
Because it is TikTok's own metric, the level reflects real, attributed shop sales, not follower count or view count. That is what makes it a stronger signal of commercial performance than audience size alone. A creator with 50k followers who consistently converts can sit at a higher level than one with 500k followers who rarely drives a sale.
