Automatically provision and deprovision Okta accounts

What you'll need to get started

  • Humaans Enterprise package

  • Access to your organisation's Okta account

  • Permission to create API tokens in your organisation's Okta account

With our Okta integration, you can automatically create users in Okta for any employees that are onboarded, keep their basic profile details in sync with Humaans, and suspend or deactivate employees which are offboarded.

Connecting to Okta

To activate, in Integrations choose Okta and Configure. The first step will be to enter your Okta domain - simply log in to your Okta account and copy and paste the browser address. You'll also be asked for an API token. To create this, in your Okta account visit Security > API > Tokens and hit Create Token.

Hit save, and we'll attempt to connect to Okta. If this is successful you'll be able to move onto configuring the integration from the Configuration tab.

Provisioning employees

In the Configuration tab, you can enable Provisioning for onboarded employees, and decide on when you want their accounts to be created.

You can also choose whether or not to automatically Activate their accounts in Okta.

Deprovisioning employees

In the same tab, you can enable Deprovisioning for offboarded employees, and decide whether to Deactivate or Suspend their accounts.

Syncing existing employees

By default this integration will only create accounts for newly onboarded employees. Should you wish to retroactively create Okta accounts for your entire organisation, simply click the "Sync all users" button and we'll do the rest.

Data mapping

Our Okta integration will automatically sync basic profile information to your employees' Okta accounts. Below is a table of Humaans Profile data and what it maps to in Okta.

Logs

You'll find a log of any actions we took on your Okta account in the integration's Logs tab. This will show all attempts to provision, deprovision or update profiles and will also let you know if something went wrong.
