Importing users in bulk with Tables

Tables allows you to import Active, New hire and Offboarded employees

Using the Import feature you can mass import employee data to create Active members, New hires and Offboarded employee profiles in Humaans.


Importing Active members

When importing Active members there are a number of mandatory fields

  • Work email - must be unique

  • Job title

  • Role effective date

  • Place of work - If Remote also include Remote city and Remote country

  • Employment start date

  • First name

  • Last name

To import your data, follow these steps:

  • First, download your data into a CSV file.

  • In the Home menu, click Tables, and select a table that includes an Active people dataset.

  • Select the Active view, then click Import in the top right corner. Drag or select your CSV file into the box. If all work emails are unique it will create new entries and preview the number of new entries being created. If the work email matches an existing email it will look to update that users data.

  • Use the review function to zoom in on these pending changes and to review any data validation failures the system might have found when reviewing your import data. To learn more about data validation and reviewing data, see Data validation in Tables.

  • Note: When importing role info use the employee's most current role. You can import historical role info using the Job roles Table.

  • Note: When importing compensation info use the employee's most current role. You can import historical compensation info using the Compensations Table.


Importing New hires

When importing New hires there are a number of mandatory fields

  • Personal email - must be unique

  • Job title

  • Role effective date

  • Place of work - If Remote also include Remote city and Remote country

  • Employment start date

  • First name

  • Last name

Importing Offboarded employees

When importing Offboarded employees there are a number of mandatory fields

  • Work email - must be unique

  • Job title

  • Role effective date

  • Place of work - If Remote also include Remote city and Remote country

  • Employment start date

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Employment end

  • Leaving reason

To import your data, follow these steps:

  • First, download your data into a CSV file.

  • In the Home menu, click Tables, and select a table that includes an Offboarded people dataset.

  • Select the Offboarded view, then click Import in the top right corner. Drag or select your CSV file into the box. If all work emails are unique it will create new entries and preview the number of new entries being created. If the work email matches an existing email it will look to update that users data.
