Humaans provides teams with the means to effectively develop, plan and forecast their headcount with our Headcount planning feature. Get insights into your organisations hiring plan, when to hire, future costs of new hires, salary increases and potential redundancies.

Creating a headcount table

  • In the Home menu, click Tables, then click Create new table in the bottom left corner.

  • Under Plans, click Headcount.

  • Name your plan and click Confirm and create plan.

Organising headcount views and filters

In the top righthand corner, there are multiple filters and views to user to gather the most relevant data for your headcount planning needs.

Currency - you can change the overall currency being used within the table/chart.

Chart - you can enable/disable the chart view from displaying above the table.

Filter, Sort, Columns, review, search - Use these to isolate and pinpoint specific datapoints that you would like to review. For more, see organising data with Tables.

Import - Import data to your headcount plan table from a .csv file format.

The Chart view

The main difference within the Headcount table is the Chart view. This view shows the total Existing team salary, Total salary increase and Planned hires compensation. The total salary amount and headcount can be viewed while hovering over each bar within the chart.

Both previous and future months can be displayed on the chart in different variables by using the Last... and Next... toggles, with each bar in the chart representing a month.

You can also view the Total salary spend, Total headcount, Total Est. salary spend and Total Est. headcount which can flucuate based on the timeframe selected and planned hires added.

Adding planned hires

Active members and new hires will appear on the headcount planning table. However, in the case where you would like to account for a role/position in the future that has not been filled yet, you could consider using the Planned hire type. To do this, scroll to the end of the headcount table, and then click Add planned hire.

The required fields for the planned hire are as follows:

  • Employment start date;

  • Salary amount;

  • Salary currency;

  • Salary frequency.

These planned hires will then appear within the chart view and will be identified within the planned hires compensation field.
