In this guide, we'll discuss how to set up time away rounding and what to expect when rounding behaviour is active on a policy.
Adding time away rounding to a type
You can add time away rounding when creating a time away policy. See Creating a time away policy for more information.
In the Time away policy edit menu, click on the desired time away type.
Under Allowance rounding, select the option that suits your policies needs:
โ- Round up to the nearest half
- Round up to the nearest full number
- No rounding
When you're ready, save your changes.
Manual Adjustments and time away rounding
Manual adjustments are not affected by the rounding setting. They function independently of the policy's rounding rules. This allows for more precise adjustments and control over user balances.
Creating a new policy vs editing an existing one
In most cases, it is recommended to create a new policy/policies rather than editing an existing one to add in PTO rounding. Changes to an existing policy will backdate to all the previous years the policy has been applied to employees, which can cause unexpected balances.
You can apply the new policy to users at the beginning of the next year or for the current year, depending on your organisation's needs.
