You can easily download your spreadsheet from Excel as a CSV file. Below, we have detailed how to download your spreadsheet as a CSV and upload it to Hurree.
Preparing Your Excel Sheet
Before converting your Excel sheet to a CSV file, it's crucial to ensure your data is properly organised to prevent any loss or misinterpretation of data. Here are some tips:
Ensure all your data is in plain text format. CSV files cannot process Excel formulas or formatting.
Ensure your data doesn't contain commas, as CSV files use commas to separate cells. Consider using a semicolon (;) or tab-separated CSV file if your data must include commas.
We have created a best practices article on formatting your spreadsheet for Hurree. We recommend reviewing it before exporting it to CSV.
Saving Your Excel Sheet as a CSV File
Once your Excel sheet is ready, follow these steps to save it as a CSV file:
Open your Excel sheet and click 'File' at the top-left corner.
Select 'Save As' from the dropdown menu.
Select the location where you want to save your file.
In the 'Save as type' field, select 'CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv)' from the dropdown menu.
Click 'Save'.
Please note that if your workbook contains multiple sheets, only the current sheet will be saved as a CSV file. If you want to save all the sheets as CSV files, you'll have to repeat the process for each sheet.
Uploading to Hurree
Once you have selected Table (Input/CSV), click the upload CSV button at the bottom of the screen.
First, you must select whether your spreadsheet includes columns and row headers. Then, you can drag and drop your CSV or uplift it from your files.
This will immediately populate the table above, which you can edit and add additional information to before adding it to your dashboard.
