Once a hacker has access to your email, they can create email addresses that are similar to yours to gain the trust of your contacts and seem reputable. Then, they can send phishing or scam emails to your contact list, tricking people into thinking it's you. Be careful what sites you give out your email address to and make sure you have a strong password.
