Why is my Graduation Year a security risk?

One of the first things a recent high school or college grad wants to do is post a picture in their cap and gown, usually with the hashtag of their graduation year. However, hackers can search for posts under that hashtag to find out public information that can be used to answer online security questions or guess passwords to breach a target’s online accounts. Be careful who you share photos with and refrain from revealing personal information like your graduation year or the name of your school.
