Personal identifiable information (PII) is data that can be used to identify, locate, or contact a specific individual. Examples of personal identifiable information include names, birth dates, addresses, social security numbers, phone numbers and other data that is used to distinguish or identify an individual. Kid’s PII is especially valuable to bad actors, because they can use a child’s name to open fresh credit cards, take out loans, pay for medical bills, etc., all without the parent knowing.
