To remove your personal data quickly and securely, some platforms require written authorization. Hush uses a Limited Power of Attorney (LPOA)—built into our Terms of Use—to meet those requirements and act on your behalf.
1. What the LPOA Allows Us to Do
The LPOA authorizes Hush to:
Submit opt-in/opt-out requests to data brokers and people-search sites
Communicate with third parties to process removals
Take action based on search results, including filing takedown requests
This helps us move faster when brokers require proof of representation.
2. How Long It Lasts & How You Stay in Control
The LPOA remains active while your membership is active.
It automatically ends when your membership ends.
You can revoke it anytime by emailing hello@gohush.com—we’ll handle it immediately.
3. What You’ll See
We notify you of meaningful findings and actions. The LPOA does not require detailed reporting of every request, allowing us to move quickly while keeping you informed of the updates that matter most.
4. Security You Can Trust
We maintain strict internal controls to ensure all actions taken under the LPOA are authorized and secure. Details are available in our Trust Center.
5. Why This Matters Now
A small group of large data brokers have recently slowed or complicated removals due to new privacy laws. While most remain cooperative, some now demand additional verification or longer processing times.
To protect your privacy without delay, Hush has:
Expanded our manual-processing team
Engaged legal and regulatory channels
Offered LPOA support where signatures are required
Strengthened our AI to adapt to new broker restrictions
Our Commitment
Your safety is our priority. The LPOA helps us act quickly, overcome new broker roadblocks, and ensure your personal information is removed as efficiently as possible.
If you have questions or need support, we’re here at hello@gohush.com.
