Control Assessments are the project of evaluating a set of controls for a specific purpose. Why perform control assessments? These assessments allow for early detection. By checking your controls, you find exceptions more quickly. Continuous improvement, which allows for critically looking at your controls to ensure you're not wasting resources. Lastly, to minimize risk. Finding exceptions and non-functional controls ASAP minimizes risk exposure.
