Policy notifications

Roles and permissions

The following roles can configure due dates to generate approval notifications:

  • Managers or contributors on the policy who are organization administrators.

  • Managers or contributors on the policy who are organization compliance managers.

Note: Policy notification settings can be updated under Settings > Notifications. See Notifications overview.

Throughout the policy approval workflow, Hyperproof sends notifications and reminders to keep stakeholders informed about their work and the progress of the approval.

Notifications include a link to open the approval, allowing the approver to respond to the approval request. See Approving or requesting a change to a policy.

Approvers receive default notifications as follows:

  • When an approval is created and assigned

  • If there are outstanding approvals, Hyperproof sends reminders:

    • 7 days prior to the due date

    • On the due date

    • Every 7 days after the due date

  • If the due date is changed

  • If the approver is @mentioned in a comment on the approval work item

A policy owner receives default notifications as follows:

  • When the assigned approver has responded to the approval

  • When the policy owner is @mentioned in a comment on the approval

  • When the parent approval is completed by setting it to Approved or Changes Requested

All policy members receive notifications as follows:

  • When a policy version moves to Effective.

Note: The member who made the policy version effective doesn't receive a notification.
