Static / Absolute Drawdown

At HyperTicks, static drawdown — also known as absolute drawdown — is a fixed loss limit measured from your initial account balance. Unlike trailing drawdown, this limit does not move as your account grows. It stays locked at your starting balance for the entire duration of trading.

Accounts Using Static Drawdown:

2-Step Fast Challenge — 8% maximum overall loss

How It Works:

If your account balance or equity falls by the set percentage from your starting balance at any point, your account will be immediately breached.

Example:

Account: 2-Step Fast Challenge — $50,000

Static Drawdown Limit: 8%

8% of $50,000 = $4,000

Maximum drawdown threshold = $46,000

If your account balance or equity falls to $46,000 at any point during trading, your account will be breached.

⚠️ Unlike trailing drawdown, the static drawdown floor never rises — even if your account grows significantly.
