At HyperTicks, trailing drawdown is a dynamic loss limit that adjusts as your account grows, but locks permanently once it reaches your initial account balance. Once locked, it no longer moves — even after payouts or account resets.
Accounts Using Trailing Drawdown:
Hyper Instant — 6% trailing
Instant+ — 6% trailing
How It Works:
Every percentage of profit you make reduces your drawdown floor by the same amount, until the floor reaches your initial account balance. At that point it locks and never moves again.
Example:
Account: Instant+ — $50,000
Trailing Drawdown Limit: 6%
Initial drawdown floor: $50,000 - $3,000 = $47,000
The trader makes $1,500 profit (3%). The trailing drawdown adjusts:
New drawdown limit = 6% - 3% = 3%
New drawdown floor = $50,000 - $1,500 = $48,500
Once the drawdown floor reaches $50,000 (the initial balance), it locks permanently.
⚠️ Once your trailing drawdown locks at your initial balance, it will not rise further regardless of future profits or payouts.
