User Permissions Definitions

This article describes all available group permissions and add-ons available to customers. As of April 2025, permissions for Base Plan customers have been grouped to simplify the permission assignment process.

Available Permissions

Group: Default Permissions

This permission enables access to the i360 Portal navigation bar, Snapshots report, and sidebar. Users that do not have this permission will see a blank screen upon login. If a user is intending to interact with the i360 User Interface, they must have this assigned.

Group: Search

This permission includes all available search tools including Basic, Advanced, and Map Search. Users will need this assigned if they intend on creating lists for surveys or exports.

Group: Exports

Users with this permission can export files from search and lists from Contacts Management. You'll also be able to retrieve previous searches in Saved & Exported under the Search tab.

Group: Contacts

This permission enables access to Contacts > Management so users can review the records in their database. Users may interact with contact profiles to view contact information, i360 Data, and call, text, or email at an individual level. This permission does not allow users to create users or volunteers. Those are permissioned out separately.

Group: User Management

Users who need access to create other users in their organization should have this permission assigned. You may edit other user permissions, change active/inactive status, and unlock other user and volunteer accounts.

Group: Volunteer Management

Users who need access to create volunteer accounts should have this permission assigned. Those with access to this permission may also apply or take away volunteer permissions.

Group: Survey Creation

Users should have this permission if they are intending to create call or walk surveys. This permission enables users to establish survey settings, create scripts, and publish.

Group: Survey Assignments

This permission is available for users who should have access to assign and manage volunteers. It is separate from the Group: Survey Creation permission to allow additional customization for levels of access. This permission includes access to assigning volunteers on the survey grid (Field > Surveys) as well as Canvassing Report.

Group: Dashboards

Assign this permission to enable access to grassroots dashboards including Grassroots View and Daily Toplines.

Group: Texting

This permission enables you to create text messages from Field > Text. This group DOES NOT include permissions to send texts. All additional texting permissions must be assigned from Volunteer Permissions in a Contact Profile.

Group: Imports

Users with this permission can import files and volunteers into their database. Importing can severely impact a database if done incorrectly, so please proceed with caution. We recommend reviewing our help materials on imports before continuing with this process. When in doubt, reach out to i360 Support.

Group: Tag Management

This permission enables access to Tag Admin to allow a user to create and manage tags. Tags are required for survey scripts, so it is recommended that users with access to Group: Survey Creation has access to this permission. If Group: Tag Management is limited to only administrative users, the administrator must ensure that enough tags are created for users to use for surveys. Learn more about tag creation here.

Group: Billing

This permission allows user to access the billing center and enables the user for text warning notifications. Text warning notifications get sent via email if an organization has exceeded or has come close to exceeding a texting threshold. Best practices to avoid text warnings are available in this guide.
