Before You Begin

  • Load an XR View.

  • You will be prompted to:

    1. Scan the environment until tracking confidence is achieved.

    2. Select a calibration method:

      • Image Target

      • Manual Calibration

      • Two-Point Calibration

Image Target Calibration

Use printed image targets to localize and align the virtual reference frame.

Steps:

  1. Select Image Targets.

  2. Scan the target until 100% tracking confidence is reached (you can proceed with less).

  3. Press Next (Right Arrow).

  4. Select the required Image Target using one of the following methods:

    1. Tap on available Image Targets directly on the Map. This will select the target and show its name.

    2. Press the QRCode button to show a searchable list of available Image Targets. Select a target from list by tapping on the target name.

  5. Press Next (right arrow) to complete calibration.

  6. Turn BIM's on using the Visibility Panel or BIM Hierarchy

Manual Calibration

Ideal when image targets are unavailable. Align using GPS and manual adjustments.

Steps:

  1. Select Manual Calibration.

  2. Set Position:

    1. Tap on the map or relative to a model.

    2. Drag to set your current position on the Map

    3. Press GPS button to set position to current GPS position

  3. Set Rotation:

    1. Screen splits into two views.

    2. Align the map/model with a known physical feature in AR View.

    3. Pinch to zoom; drag to rotate.

  4. Set Elevation:

    • Screen splits into two views.

    • Drag in AR View to adjust model height.

    • Manipulate map view as needed.

Two-Point Calibration

Provides the highest accuracy when Image Targets are not available by aligning two points in the virtual world with two points in the real world.

Steps:

  1. Select Two-Point Calibration.

  2. Pick 2 Points on Map/Model:

    1. Navigate to the required location on the Map or in your BIM

    2. Long press to place first point.

    3. Long press to place second point.

    4. Accurately adjust created points by long pressing and dragging on the required point if necessary.

    5. Press Next.

  3. Scan Environment to detect planes.

  4. Align Points in Real World:

    1. Align reticle with real-world location for first point, press the Anchor button.

    2. Repeat for second point.

    3. To edit, hover reticle over a point and press the Edit button. Reposition the point and press the Anchor button to lock the point in place.

  5. Press Next to finalize calibration.

Tips for Best Results

  • Ensure good lighting and clear visibility of physical features.

  • Move slowly and point you device towards the ground while scanning for better tracking confidence.

  • Use Two-Point Calibration for accurate calibration when Image Targets are not available.
