There are two schools of thought in internet marketing.
DABBLER SCHOOL OF THOUGHT
Dabblers typically want to make money without making a commitment. Commitment could be time, money, effort, risk or all of the above. These people are looking to make money without spending money. They typically say they can't afford to (or aren't willing to) invest in their online business, because they money's tight and seek ways to make money for free. These people aren't willing to take risks. They have low "quit barrier." In other words, they get easily discouraged about the methods they try. They are impatient. They are bitter at everyone and their brother for not handing the world to them on a silver platter for free. These people never make money and often lose money chasing shiny objects and get rich quick schemes that are being paddle by people who sweet talk them into enrolling into scams.
LIFESTYLER SCHOOL OF THOUGHT
Lifestylers are complete opposite of dabblers. They also work with a limited budget, but their "emotional budget" for commitment, risk, investment and effort is much higher. They enjoy learning and chase the feeling of progress above immediate returns. They don't shy away from taking calculated gradual risks and expect nothing to be handed to them on a silver platter. They strive to bring value wherever they go. They have a sense of urgency about their pursuit of online success yet at the same time they recognize it's a process and not an overnight thing. They know anything worthy in life typically takes time and effort and investments, so they develop realistic expectations within their means. These people almost always make money online while still losing some money in their pursuit of the right system. They question people who promise overnight riches, because they believe in hard work.
Here in the List Building Lifestyle Club we're looking for Lifestylers and not dabblers, because we can't help people who have a high sense of entitlement and poor work ethics.
It takes money to make money. Don't let anyone fool you. But it doesn't take as much a you'd think. And it's certainly not as expensive as starting a brick and mortar business or getting a college degree. The former would set you back at least $15,000 between rent, equipment, staff, permits, etc. While the latter is going to cost you $35,000 or more. Internet marketing allows you to get going with less than $50 to start with an average monthly maintenance costs of less than $100 when you've grown a bit.
Igor recommends free and low cost tools for your online business. Some of them are nice-haves (meaning it's nice to have them, but not mandatory) while others are kind of important like an email autoresponder or a tracking software, for example. Use free alternatives where you can, but be okay with investing where you must.
REALITY CHECK
If you can't afford (or aren't willing to find) $50-$100 per month to invest in your online business every month right now, then here are your options:
You can make the necessary changes in your life to find the extra $50-$100 per month within your means. This could mean cutting on your Netflix membership and asking for a friend to give you theirs or lowering sweets intake or even selling off some old stuff you've got lying in the garage to get a head start. If there's a will, there's a way, as the old saying goes.
You can create the extra income by trading your time for money. This means either getting another job, using a skill you may have to help out friends and family (snow shoveling, cutting grass, fixing computers, painting walls, etc) or starting a fiverr or upwork account and becoming a freelancer (administrative assistant, web designer, writer/editor, video editing, transcription services, translation services, research, customer support, etc).
Drop the act, get real and admit you're not really an entrepreneur, you're just looking for a way to make an extra $100/mo and building a business (whether online or offline) is simply not for you, because you'll never be willing to invest the time, effort and money it requires. You're better off trying your luck elsewhere.
SO ARE YOU ONLY HELPING RICH PEOPLE?
No, we help people who want to be helped. We extend a hand-up, not a hand-out.
Every one of our successful students started out with very little money to play with. Which is also true of Igor. Igor started out without so much as a job, and tried to be a dabbler too for a while, until he realized it's not going to get him anywhere and went out there to find a way to fund his online business. At one point he had two jobs. One to pay bills and one to fund his online business that required $150/mo to maintain (before it made him any real money).
Here's what Igor had done to get money for his online business
Got a job - jobs have a bad rep on the internet, because everyone's selling the entrepreneurial freedom. But if it wasn't for working low wage jobs, Igor would have never been able to find money tools and traffic. During the first 3.5 years when Igor miserably failed with every online method he tried, he worked in a hotel where he took on any vacant position offered to him. He started out in housekeeping, cleaning toilets and soon moved up to the reception desk where he worked 8 hour shifts, before taking the 40 minute bus ride home to work on his online business. He would often request the graveyard shift in order to be able to work on his online business on his laptop during work hours, so he could get paid to build his online business. He later did the same when he picked up a security gig at a local factory.
Became a Freelancer - after several years online, Igor taught himself through buying courses and mentoring programs (as well as watching free YouTube videos) how to build capture pages, install WordPress themes, write articles and other useful online marketing skills. He then offered his services in a form of packages (5 articles for $20; 2 capture pages for $50; etc) to other people who paid him for his time and expertise. He was able to make an extra $250-$500 per month doing that.
Wrote emails and marketing copy for other marketers - after realizing copywriting is very important, Igor also noticed that most people knew enough about it to value it but weren't willing to actually sit down and write. So he started offering email writing, capture page copy writing, sales page copywriting, video script copy writing and other copywriting packages for bargain prices. He felt great doing it because it allowed him to get paid to improve his skills while at the same time creating another source of income to fund his online ventures.
Cut expenses - at the time of starting his online business Igor lived with his parents. He chipped in on rent, but was still able to save money from his day job. Later on, while still unsuccessful at internet marketing, Igor moved in with his girlfriend (who is now his wife and mother of his two children) Anastasiya. He now had to pay rent. Both him and Anastasiya got jobs in the hospitality industry that didn't pay well. So they kept track of their food budget, avoided buying anything other necessities, never dined out, avoided wedding invitations and birthday invites (so they didn't have to buy gifts) and basically kept their spending down to a minimum. Doing so allowed them to save 10% of their income, while covering food and rent, while leaving a bit of money for Igor to buy traffic and tools for his online business (which Anastasiya didn't believe will pan out, but didn't get in the way either).
WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSE?
