1.14 How does iGroove handle streaming manipulation?

Learn how iGroove enforces a zero-tolerance policy against streaming manipulation and what consequences violations can have.

Updated over a week ago

iGroove follows a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of streaming manipulation. We use extensive measures to detect and prevent it at an early stage.

  • With early-warning systems, we can quickly identify suspicious activity

  • If suspicion is confirmed, the affected releases are removed by the Digital Service Providers (DSPs)

  • In case of violations of streaming guidelines, iGroove may, at its own discretion, charge a compensation fee of up to 200 USD/EUR/GBP/CHF per affected track

We work closely with DSPs and their anti-fraud teams to effectively prevent manipulation.

Important:

  • Manipulated streams are not paid out

  • Violations can lead to the suspension of individual releases or the entire catalog

  • iGroove reserves the right to terminate the collaboration extraordinarily in case of repeated violations

  • Any penalty fees issued by DSPs are passed on exclusively to the affected artists or labels โ€“ customers not involved are never affected

If you are unsure whether a promotion or marketing campaign is legitimate, you can contact the support team via the chat in the Help Center and describe your situation with as many details as possible (e.g. type of promotion, affected songs, ISRCs).

Unsure what exactly counts as stream manipulation?

Spotify has published the Artificial Streaming Education Guidelines. You can find more valuable information on our blog. If you are uncertain whether a promotion is legitimate, donโ€™t hesitate to ask our support team for a second opinion.
