Mark the track as a cover under “Type of recording” (not in the song title).
Register the song with your local collecting society (e.g., GEMA, SUISA, AKM).
The original song must already be registered with a collecting society – otherwise, you’ll need permission from the rights holders.

Are the original rights holders based in the U.S.?
No: Worldwide distribution for streaming and download is allowed.
Yes: Continue to step 2.
Is the song available for streaming only?
Yes: Worldwide distribution, including the U.S., is allowed.
No: Continue to step 3.
Is the song available in the U.S. as a download or physical release?
A license is required.
