The Immersion mobile app allows us to integrate with a smartwatch end users already own or a wearable provided to them. Our app collects data on small, second-by-second peripheral changes in the body (e.g., cardiac rhythm) which are naturally tracked by smartwatches or wearables. The physiologic patterns of change we are measuring are used to infer specific brain states.

As data are collected, they are sent from our mobile app to our cloud-based algorithms, which convert the raw physiologic data to two key measures: Immersion and Psychological Safety.

  • Our Immersion metric is a measure of neural attention and emotional resonance, and it tells us when people's brains are finding value in or enjoying an experience and when an experience is falling flat, reducing the likelihood that people will be moved to action. To learn more, check out our What is Immersion? article!

  • Our Safety metric is a measure of how psychologically safe individuals are in any given experience, which reflects the extent to which they feel comfortable, confident, and ready to absorb and share information. To learn more, check out our What is Psychological Safety? article!

Years of academic research and numerous case studies have shown our brain-based measure of immersion is a more accurate predictor of future consumer decisions and actions compared to traditional techniques like surveys and interviews which rely on intentions and feelings. And our measure of safety predicts important outcomes like team success and productivity!
