There are a couple ways to create tags at different points in the Experience.

To jump to specific points in the process of making an Experience, look here:

While Creating a Measurement

  • If you are creating an Experience from scratch, you can add tags using a CSV file. Your CSV file must have one column with a list of emails and another column of your desired tags, separated by commas.

  • For example in column one, row one you would have an email (e.g., brainiac01@getimmersion.com) then in row one column two, you would type your desired tags. This could be “female, 20 years” or other tags you would like to include.

  • You can upload this CSV while creating your Experience and inviting participants. When you get to the “Invite participants however is easiest” page, upload your CSV under “Let Immersion send invites & instructions”.

  • The tags should then be included. You can view this under the “Setup” tab.

While a Measurement is in Progress

Adding tags through the platform

  • Start by clicking on the “Setup” tab for your data collection event. You can select certain participants through clicking the check box to the left of their status and clicking “Add Tags”.

  • You can also do this with individual participants through using the three-dot menu to the right of each participant (this should appear once you hover over a participant) and clicking “Manage Tags”. The "tags" feature allows you to filter by age, gender, or tags that you create.

  • If you go to the “Second-by-Second” tab, you can view data for the participants that fit that tag. To view only participants that fit your tag, toggle off the “All Participants” filter on the left side of the screen, and toggle on the button for your desired tag. Then, the data for those participants will be displayed.

Adding tags on a CSV file

  • First, go to the “Setup” tab. Select all the participant emails, so that a check appears next to each participant.

  • Then, click on “Export to CSV” on the top right of your screen (the icon is an arrow pointing downward) and download the CSV to export the participants. You will be asked whether you want to export and map "By Email" or "By Device ID".

  • Open up the CSV file and add your tags for each participant in the column labeled Tags. Be sure to include a comma to separate the tags if you have more than one, and delete any spaces between text and commas. Resave the file.

For example, to input two tags for a participant, the text may look like this:

tag1, tag2

  • The CSV is in the format you need to re-upload those tags. To re-upload the edited CSV, go to “Import Tags” on the top right of your screen and the tags should load onto the platform! Make sure you’ve unchecked all participants for this button to appear.

    • For measurement in progress: Select one participant and the menu bar with an option to "Import Tags" will appear on your screen. Go to “Import Tags” and upload your file.

    • For measurement is completed: Go to “Import Tags” on the top right of your screen where you see the “Measurement Status” box. Upload the file and the tags should load onto the platform!
