Adding Discounts to Your Upsells
Effortless Discount Management: In Cart Upsell automatically creates discounts as items are added to the cart. This allows you to specify the discount type and amount without the need to manage codes.
Reduced Risk of Abuse: You don’t have to worry about discount code abuse since each discount expires after use, ensuring a fair discounting process.
Discounts are Clearly Displayed: Discounted prices are shown directly on the offer widget, so customers know what they are getting from the onset.
Seamless Integration with Shopify: In-app discounts can easily be combined with existing Shopify discounts, enhancing promotional strategies and broadening customer reach.
In-app discounts function similarly to Shopify discounts, but unlike Shopify discounts, they do not allow for the setting of specific start and end dates. In-app discounts are tied to the offer itself, allowing you to discontinue the discount by simply unpublishing the offer, or disabling the discount option whenever necessary.
Setting Up a Discounted Upsell
Follow these simple steps to add your discount rules to your new offer.
After adding your upsell product and the necessary offer text, scroll down to the “Discount Options” section.
Click the “Enable Discount” checkbox
Select the desired discount type: percentage, set amount, or free shipping
Enter the discount value you want to offer your shoppers
Minimum Cart Amount & Discount Combination (Optional)
You can also set a minimum cart amount for the discount to apply. For example, to apply the discount when the cart total reaches $100, enter “100” in the minimum cart amount field.
Discounts created with In Cart Upsell can be combined with other Shopify discounts - including product, shipping, and order discounts. Ensure that the combination options are enabled for the manually created discount in your Shopify discount section.
IMPORTANT: Once you’ve completed the offer setup, be sure to click the Save button at the top.
