Requester · Approver · Audit trail
Why approvals exist
Every send is a chance to impress your audience. Approvals provide a transparent paper trail, so you send confidently without bottlenecks.
• Clear. One status tells everyone exactly where a creative stands.
• Accountable. Named reviewers and real sign-offs—no “I thought you had it.”
• On record. Every request and approval is timestamped for audit.
From request to signed-off in four steps
The approvals process is fully tracked from end to end.
1. Request: The owner picks one or more reviewers, adds a note and sends the ask.
2. Review: Each reviewer previews the creative and signs off, independently.
3. Approved: When every reviewer approves, the creative is cleared to send.
4. On record: Every action lands in the change log, timestamped and named.
Two sides of every approval
Which side you’re on is resolved automatically from who’s signed in. Requesters drive the request; approvers give the sign-off.
Requester — owns the creative and drives sign-off.
• Request approval and add reviewers.
• Send reminders to nudge reviewers.
• Remove a reviewer from the request.
Approver — a teammate named in the request.
• Approve the creative in one click.
• Withdraw their own sign-off anytime.
• See the roster read-only—can’t nudge or remove others.
The one rule to remember
Only an approver can undo an approval—a requester never can. To reset, the requester adjusts the reviewer list.
Approval statuses
You can see exactly where a creative stands in the project header. Status is based on who’s signed off.
• Request Approval: Approval is ready to be requested.
• Approval Pending: The project is awaiting one or more sign-offs.
• Approved: Every requester has approved.
The status pill lives in the project header, alongside the creative it describes.
Requesting approval
Open the approval drawer and send a request in three steps.
1. Select one or more team members required for approval.
2. Add an optional message to send approvers additional context.
3. Click Request Approval. Everyone selected is notified, and the status turns pending.
The Approval drawer: Select team members and request their approval.
Pending approvals
Once a request is pending, you can keep track of its progress and update as needed.
• Send Reminder to anyone still awaiting sign-off.
• Add members mid-review when another set of eyes is needed.
• Remove a member from the approval process.
Once a request is pending, approvers can be added, removed or reminded.
Approving requests
Approvers can view which team members have already signed off and Approve Project in one click. Once an approver has approved a project, they can rescind that approval by clicking Unapprove Campaign.
Approvers can approve projects and view which requests are still awaiting sign-off.
Approvers can unapprove campaigns during the approval process.
Email notifications for approvals
Two types of email notifications are sent during the approval process: one when an approval is requested, and one when the rendering is approved.
Sent when approval is requested
• “Monster Support has requested your approval for the rendering: List View Test (1.0).” A Review Rendering button deep-links to the proofing view.
Sent when the rendering is approved
• “All required stakeholders have approved the following rendering: List View Test (1.0). The approval process is now complete.” A View Rendering button opens the final.
The approvals dashboard
In the approvals dashboard, you can view all pending and completed approvals in one place. Here you can review the following:
• Needs my approval — sign off without leaving the page.
• Awaiting other reviewers — track all pending approvals.
• Completed approvals — a searchable history of who approved what.
The approvals dashboard provides a one-page view of approval requests and progress.
The approval log
The approval log can be found in the second tab of the approval drawer. This log maintains the sign-off history, with notes on versions, team members and completed approvals.
• Grouped by the version that was approved.
• Named approver plus an exact timestamp on each sign-off.
• Download as PDF for records.

The change log
The change log captures the project’s full history across every version.
• The log is timestamped and attributed to each team member.
• Versions are grouped, oldest to newest, with version notes visible at a glance.
• Download as PDF for records.
