Try Out the Indago Chrome Extension
We're excited to announce the release of the Indago Data Retriever BETA browser extension, a tool designed to enhance your research and reporting capabilities directly from your web browser.
With the Indago browser extension, you can save articles and social posts from most websites directly into your designated Indago collections as `.txt` files and analyze content seamlessly, enriching your reports with the most relevant and up-to-date information.
Step 1: Installing the Browser Extension
Go to the Chrome Web Store using the link below and click “Add to Chrome." The extension can be used on both the Chrome and Brave browsers https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/indago-data-retriever-bet/ndbliaoapofpcoakheajbmdkmlohelcc
Once you've added the extension, click the Chrome extension icon, which looks like a puzzle piece. You will see a list of your available extensions, which you can pin to your browser for easier access by clicking the pushpin icon.
Step 2: Capture Content from Websites
Option 1: Capture a Specific Section
Open a webpage.
Highlight the text you want to save (e.g., a few paragraphs or a specific section).
Click on the Indago Data Retriever BETA extension icon in your Chrome toolbar.
Select one of your collection folders or a team folder.
Click "Save" to send the highlighted content to the designated collection.
Option 2: Capture the Entire Page
Open a webpage.
Without highlighting anything, click the Indago Data Retriever BETA icon.
Select your collection.
Click "Save" to send the full webpage content to your collection.
Once you click "Save," a message should appear indicating that the content was saved successfully. If you receive a message that the content failed to upload while attempting to capture the entire page, you will have to highlight the whole article and then save it to your collection.
Step 3: Review Saved Content in Indago
Return to the Indago platform and open the collection you used.
Articles saved using the web extension will have a globe icon.
Review the saved web snippets:
Click "See Result" to preview the captured sections.
Click the URL to navigate back to the original webpage.
Step 4: Provide Feedback
As this feature is in beta, you may encounter issues. Use the Feedback button in the bottom-left corner of the Indago platform to report bugs or share suggestions.
Your feedback will be sent directly to the Indago development and product teams.
