Adding a video or live video stream on your site

In this article, you will learn how to embed an MP4 video file and/or a live video stream on your Indie Site.

Updated over 10 months ago

Adding a live video stream to your Indie site can be done in just a few easy steps. While we don't support direct MP4 video uploads, you can still post videos and share live content seamlessly using a third-party video platform.

Step 1: Choose a Video Streaming Platform

Indiegraf requires you to use an external video hosting service such as YouTube or Vimeo. These platforms provide stable, high-quality streaming options and generate a shareable video link for embedding.

Step 2: Upload the Video or Start Your Live Stream

Upload the video or set up your live stream on your chosen platform. Once your video is uploaded and active, copy the video URL provided by the platform.

Step 3: Embed the Video on Your Indie Website

  1. Log in to your Indie Site editor.

  2. Navigate to the page or post where you want to display the video.

  3. Design block:

    1. For YouTube embed: Add our YouTube Embed URL design block

    2. For Vimeo embed: Add our Vimeo Embed URL design block

  4. Paste the video URL link into the block.

  5. Save and publish your changes.

Note:

While you can embed a YouTube live stream video on Indie Sites, the live comment section is not supported and will not be displayed.

Once embedded, your live stream will be accessible directly from your website, providing your audience with a seamless viewing experience. This method ensures your website remains fast and responsive while leveraging the advanced streaming capabilities of YouTube, Vimeo, or similar platforms.
