Overview
Control employee access to projects by assigning specific clients and locations. This helps enhance security and streamline project management by ensuring employees can only view and collaborate on projects that match their assigned client(s) and location(s), preventing unauthorized access while maintaining administrative flexibility.
Prerequisites
You must have the correct account type and permissions to access an individual Employee's page to make the edits described in this article.
Process
Assigning Clients to Employees
Navigate to the Employees module.
Select an employee, then click Edit Employee.
Under the Access Control tab:
Select the Clients for Project Access assigned to the employee using the dropdown menu.
Select the Locations where the employee will have access to projects using the corresponding dropdown menu.
Multiple clients and locations can be selected, if needed.
Automatic Project Access
Users with automatic project access based on Office Location or Strategic Client are granted access when their employee assignment matches the project's assigned value.
If a project's Office Location or Strategic Client is left blank, only users whose corresponding employee attribute is also blank will receive automatic access. Users with a specific Office Location or Strategic Client assignment will not automatically gain access until the project is assigned a matching value.
This behavior helps ensure project access is limited to the appropriate users, even when project metadata has not yet been populated.
4. Click Save.
Note: If you are unable to access a project you've been invited to, please reach out to an administrator to confirm which clients you are assigned to.
With precise client and location assignments, employees can collaborate seamlessly while ensuring access is limited to authorized projects and sensitive information remains protected.
