Overview
Streamline project setup with INGENIOUS.BUILD. This guide ensures you efficiently create and configure projects, capturing all essential details to enable seamless collaboration and effective management within the platform.
Prerequisites
Depending on the settings in your workspace, a user with a Project Manager account type may not have the permission level to create a project. If you cannot add a new project, contact your workspace Administrator.
Process
Adding a New Project
On the main Dashboard, click + Create New Project. Complete the required fields on each step.
Step 1: Project Details
Project Name: Enter the name of the project. Please note that this cannot be edited later and can only be changed by contacting the INGENIOUS Support team.
Client:
a. Choose Invite if your client will be collaborating with you using INGENIOUS.
b. Choose For Record if your client is off-system. You can always invite a For Record client later.
Entity and Addresses (optional): Set it once, and it will auto-fill in contracts and other relevant areas. Useful for companies with multiple legal entities or accounting integrations to ensure correct financial routing.
Note: The Entity and Addresses option will only be available once a client is selected.
Invite Collaborators (optional): Invite team members or external partners. You can add more anytime from the project directory.
Base Currency: This will default to your workspace's base currency. You can change it using the dropdown.
Measurement System: Choose Imperial (US) or Metric (international).
Preferred Unit: Choose between Square Feet and Acres.
Click Next Step (optional) or Start Project.
Step 2: Project Site and Size
Select a Project Site from the dropdown.
Fill in the missing required fields.
Add your Site Size.
Gross Area – The total constructed area of the site
Rentable Area – The area available for leasing or rental
Usable Area – The space that can be actively used for operations
Click Next Step (optional) or Start Project.
Step 3: Additional Details
Choose a Sector / Industry (optional). These are not currently customizable. If you do not see the option you are looking for, choose Other and use the Project Type dropdown below.
Add a Project Commencement Date and Project Completion Date (optional).
Select the Project Type (optional) from the dropdown.
Add Primary and Secondary Tags (optional) to your workspace to further classify your project.
Office Location: The office or branch responsible for managing this project.
Custom ID: Add your own reference ID. Typically used to associate this project with an external system.
Project Scope (optional): Add a summary of your project's key details.
Exclusion from Project Scope (optional): Summarize any exclusions from your project scope.
Click Start Project to complete setup and begin working in your project.
