The SEO Audit checks the on-page SEO of your web pages so they rank higher on search engines and bring in more search traffic. It gives every page an on-page score and shows you which parts of the page are pulling that score down.
Open the SEO Audit
In your Shopify admin, go to Apps → AI SEO App.
Select SEO audit in the app menu.
Choose what to audit
The audit is split into four tabs, so you can work through one content type at a time:
Products — your product pages.
Collections — your category and collection pages.
Blog posts — articles published on your store blog.
Pages — static pages such as About, Contact or FAQ.
Read the results
Each row in the table shows:
Product / page — the item being audited, with its thumbnail.
On-page score — a score out of 100 for how well that page is optimized. Use the sort control on this column to bring your weakest pages to the top.
Handle — the URL handle of the page, so you can confirm you are looking at the right item.
Last updated — when the page was last audited. Pages that have never been scanned show a dash instead of a score.
Fix what the audit finds
Open a page from the list to see its detailed report. The audit looks at the elements search engines rely on most, including:
Title tag — is it present, unique, and the right length?
Meta description — is it present and does it describe the page accurately?
Headings — is there a clear H1, and is the heading structure sensible?
Image alt text — do the images on the page describe themselves to search engines?
Content and keyword usage — is there enough content, and does it use the terms shoppers actually search for?
URL handle — is it short, readable and keyword-relevant?
Apply the recommended fixes, then re-run the audit on that page. The on-page score updates to reflect your changes.
Tips for getting the most out of the audit
Start with your best sellers. Improving a page that already gets traffic pays off faster than fixing a page nobody visits.
Work in batches. Sort by score, fix the ten lowest-scoring pages, then move on to the next ten.
Re-audit after big changes. If you rewrite descriptions or change your theme, run the audit again so your scores stay accurate.
Pair it with Keyword Research. The audit tells you what is missing; Keyword Research tells you which words to put there.
How many pages you can audit depends on your plan. If you reach your limit, upgrading raises the allowance.
