Improvements

New Settings layout in the CHR

We updated the design and layout of the CHR’s Settings page to make it easier to navigate.

The various settings are still ordered alphabetically but are now categorised into four sections: Account, Clinical, Patient, and Advanced.

Archiving patient files

We have replaced the capability of deleting patient files with archiving. You can restore archived files in case you accidentally archived them. In Patient Files, simply click Archive to archive a file. You can view or restore archived files from the Archived tab.

📌 Note: Files attached via an encounter cannot be archived or restored from the Patient Files section but instead from the encounter’s Attachment section.

For more information, see Archiving patient files.

Archiving appointment types and group visit templates

If you no longer use an appointment type or group visit template, you can now archive it instead of deleting it entirely from the CHR. If you decide to use it again, you can restore it.

📌 Note: All previous or future appointments associated with an archived appointment type remain in the schedule. If you are using eBooking, patients cannot see or select archived appointment types.

New patient data variable: CC Recipient

A new patient data variable, CC Recipient, was added to the CHR to be used primarily in cover page templates and forms. By auto-populating the recipient name and CC recipient name in forms and cover pages, it improves transparency around who will receive and should review the given document. See Creating cover page templates and Creating form templates

Additionally, when adding a cover page to an outgoing PDF, you can now add more than one recipient, including the patient’s referring provider, family doctor, and others from your list of contacts. The document is then sent to all selected recipients. See Adding a fax cover page to a PDF document.

Easily locate a form requisition

It is now much easier to search for and review past form requisitions. If you use the same form template with different autofill templates regularly, it is difficult to find a specific form requisition without having to open each one. The autofill template name now appears below the form that you used. For example, when completing a LifeLabs requisition and using the autofill template: Amenorrhea, the form is now named LifeLabs Requisition, Amenorrhea.

Miscellaneous prescription enhancements

We made several improvements when writing prescriptions to ensure accuracy and provide clarity.

  • The Notes field on all prescriptions is intended for internal use only and does not appear on any printed, faxed, or digitally transmitted prescriptions. We updated the name of the field to Notes (for internal use only) to make the intended use more clear.

  • If the Duration field does not include a numeric duration (e.g. only the units such as days, weeks etc. are entered), when you tab past the field, the field turns red to indicate you are missing information.

  • The PRN checkbox is now located between the Frequency and Duration fields.

Fixes

  • When you prescribe a medication without specifying the dose, frequency, or duration, and only enter the quantity, the End On field is now left blank instead of defaulting to today’s date.

  • Setting the Statuses filter in your schedule to All Statuses now includes appointments with status None.

  • Once a patient has referred themselves using eReferrals, the acceptance notice is now sent to the patient.

  • PEI patients with two identifiers and the same issuer are no longer seen as a duplicate patient and therefore the patient chart can be updated.

  • In PEI, when clicking on a lab report in the Lab Results section of the CHR, the PDF version is now displayed instead of the raw version (.rtf).
