Why Your Students May See an "Access Blocked" Message Signing into Inquisitive with Google

Google requires explicit approval from your Google administrators before students can access third-party educational applications like Inquisitive. This policy helps ensure the security and safety of student data in Google Workspace for Education environments.

If Inquisitive is blocked for your students, they will see the following message when trying to access the platform:

How to Request Access for Inquisitive

  1. Students: Click the "Request Access" link on the error page. This sends an alert to your Google administrators, notifying them that Inquisitive access is requested for your school.

  2. Teachers: Contact your Google administrators directly to request that they approve Inquisitive for use by students. If you have difficulty finding Inquisitive in the apps list, copy and paste our client ID:

Important Technical Details:

Inquisitive may require specific sites to be accessible to students and teachers.

Inquisitive integrates with Google and Google Classroom for the following purposes:

  • Allowing teachers and students to sign in using Google Single Sign-On (SSO).

  • Enabling teachers to create Google Classroom assignments directly within the Inquisitive platform.
