Currently three video modes support 2x lossless zoom:

2.7K 16:9 @60fps and below

1080P 16:9 @60fps and below

2.7K 16:9 @60fps and below

1080P 16:9 @60fps and below

Three photo modes support zooming without loss of quality by double tapping:

Standard photo: 12MP, 9MP

HDR photo: 12MP, 9MP

Interval photo: 12MP, 9MP

Burst Photo: 12MP

2. Why does footage shot with manual settings on Ace Pro look better than footage shot with automatic settings?

On the Ace Pro, the auto settings for action scenes typically opt for a slower shutter speed and higher ISO values. This helps you capture more detail and reduce motion blur in action scenes. However, the automatic high ISO settings can introduce a certain level of noise into the footage, potentially compromising image quality to some extent.

For non-action scenes, you have the option to manually adjust settings. For instance, you might select a faster shutter speed and a lower ISO to minimize noise, resulting in sharper and cleaner image quality.

3. Can Ace Pro switch between 9:16 and 16:9 video recording?

We suggest recording in Freeframe mode, then you can switch between 9:16 and 16:9 video aspect ratios during post-production. Alternatively, you can physically rotate the device to switch between landscape and portrait recording. Furthermore, our official website offers a specialized vertical-horizontal mount, which you can use for added convenience.

4. Does the HDR photo mode on Ace Pro support Automatic Exposure Bracketing (AEB)?

Unfortunately, it does not support AEB. The HDR photo mode on Ace Pro uses a different HDR technology than the X3, which does not require blending multiple exposure values obtained through AEB. Once you select the HDR shooting mode (which the Ace Pro camera will automatically enable), the camera will directly output images with HDR effects, with no need for manual post-processing. This significantly simplifies the shooting process, and the pictures you take will automatically have enhanced HDR details and dynamic range.

5. Does Ace Pro support shooting while charging? Is the content automatically saved when low-power causes the camera to shut down?

Ace Pro supports shooting while charging. When the camera is connected to a stable external power source, it will continue to charge until full, and it will prioritize the external power supply when shooting. When low-power causes the camera to shut down, the content will be automatically saved.

6. How do I use the gesture control feature on Ace/Ace Pro?

Ace/Ace Pro can be controlled by two different gestures. You can slide down from the top of the screen, tap the gesture icon ""✋"" > ""Gesture Control"" to activate this feature. To enable this feature, make sure you are within 1.6 - 5.2ft (0.5 - 1.6m) of the camera and your face is unobstructed.

7. Why does the playback/preview look blurry on the Flip Touchscreen?

Footage is compressed while viewing on the camera's screen. The actual quality will be based on your shooting parameters. You can view the finished footage through our app or Insta360 Studio on your computer.
