How Rise processes store credit refunds
When you issue a refund with Rise.ai on Square, you have the option to provide Store Credit instead of a cash refund. Store Credit is delivered directly into your Customer’s digital wallet (managed as a gift card) ensuring all credits are easily tracked and redeemed during future visits.
How to issue store credit for returns
With Rise.ai, every Customer can have an integrated wallet in Square. Store Credit is managed as a gift card automatically generated by Rise.ai and linked to the Customer.
If the customer already has a wallet:
Open the order in your Square dashboard.
Click Issue Refund.
Select the items you’d like to refund.
Choose Refund to Gift Card- The gift card automatically created by Rise is the customer’s wallet.
If the customer does not yet have a wallet:
Go to your Rise dashboard.
Navigate to Store Credit > Customer Wallets.
Click Issue Store Credit.
Enter the customer’s email address and the refund amount- Under Reason, select Refund.
(Optional) Set an expiration date for the store credit.
When this process is completed, Rise.ai will automatically create a wallet (gift card) for the Customer. This wallet will appear in your Square POS automatically the next time the Customer shops.
