I Applied to 20 Schools. Will I Receive 20 Secondary Applications?

Not all schools send secondaries. Some screen applicants first. Check each school’s policy if you haven’t received one.

Not necessarily. Some medical schools send secondary applications to every applicant, while others screen primary applications first. If a school doesn’t send you a secondary, it might mean you weren’t selected to continue in this admissions cycle.

That doesn’t mean you’ve been rejected—at least not officially. If you’re unsure, check the school’s admissions website. Many programs clearly state whether they send secondaries automatically or only after an initial review.

If your goal is to attend that school, you can always try again next cycle. In the meantime, focus on submitting strong secondaries to the schools that invite you to move forward.
