Prerequisite: This feature is reserved for users with an administrator or maintenance role.
Audit logs allow you to record and track events generated by the various system services.
Accessing Audit Logs
To access the logs, go to the Box Management / Logs Manager menu.
This takes you to the log viewing screen.
Filtering Events
The event display can be filtered using the options located on the left side of the screen. You can filter events according to the following criteria:
Event Category: Select events based on their category.
Note: It is possible to display all logs related to a specific service, regardless of their category.
Event Period : Display events within a specific date range.
Event Level (Type): Filter based on the type of event recorded.
The display can also be sorted in other ways:
Display the most recent events first.
Group events of the same level for better readability.
Logged Event Categories
Audit logs record events generated by the various system services. These events are classified into the following categories:
Access Control: Tracking of login attempts and access right changes.
Request Errors: Recording of errors related to requests sent to the system.
System Events: Notifications of internal events affecting system operation.
Backup and Restore Events: History of data backup and restore operations.
Configuration Changes: Tracking of modifications made to system settings.
Example below for the 'Access Control' category :
Logged Event Format
Each event is formatted in the following way:
timestamp: Precise time and date of the event.
source: Origin of the event (service, user…).
type: Type of the event.
event ID: Unique identifier for the event.
event result: Outcome of the event (success, failure, etc.).
Log Storage Capacity
The storage capacity for audit logs is limited to 2 GB. Once this limit is reached, the oldest events are automatically deleted to free up space and allow new data to be recorded.
Usage Recommendation : To avoid any loss of information, it is advisable to archive the audit logs regularly.
