Prerequisites : This feature is available for users with a View Creator role.
With IndaView Creator, you can create symbols.
A symbol represents a reusable object to which parameters can be associated.
The goal is to improve user experience by saving time. Users can conveniently repurpose objects, adjusting parameters to meet their specific needs.
Create a symbol
Access IndaView Creator and select a monitoring application.
Select the synoptic to edit.
As an example, let's create a "message" type object that we will convert into a symbol.
Right-click on the object, then click on Create symbol.
A pop-up opens to allow you to save your symbol.
Note : By default, a "Symbols" folder is preselected.
Associate parameters to the symbol
Right-click on the symbol, then click on "Edit symbol".
Double-click on the object to access the properties configuration screen.
Let's say we want to create a parameter at the label level. Let's call this parameter 'Title.' To signify the intention to create a parameter, we use the '@' symbol, like this: @[parameter name]@.
Close the properties window, then save.
Go back to the main synoptic.
To assign the desired value to the parameter, access the object's configuration screen by double-clicking on it :
Then, go to the Symbols menu :
We can see our “Title” parameter (1), to which we can assign a value (2).
Replace the default value "@Title@" by the value you need.
In our example, "Documentation".
Close the window.
The displayed message is “Documentation”.
Reuse the symbol
A symbol can be reused, whether within the same synoptic or in a different one.
Click on Symbol.
The synoptic library opens.
Select a symbol, then click on “Confirm Selection”.
Click anywhere on the synoptic to display the symbol.
As seen earlier, you can now modify the parameter value.
