What are gifts or inheritance

Gifts or inheritance are assets or funds you received from another person β€” either as a donation or due to inheritance. These are not taxed as income but still need to be declared. Inheritance tax or gift tax may be applicable.

Example

You inherited a flat or received CHF 25'000 from a family member.

Document

A gift agreement or certificate of inheritance (e.g., from a notary). Any documents proving the transaction can be enclosed.
