What are management costs
Management costs are expenses incurred for the administration and safekeeping of your securities. These include, for example, custody fees or fees for asset management by a bank.
Costs for the purchase or sale of securities are not deductible. Expenses for the acquisition or increase in value of assets are also not deductible.
If your securities are managed by third parties, you can deduct the costs either as a flat rate or based on actual costs. The flat rate amounts to 3 per mille of the taxable value of the managed securities, but no more than CHF 6’000 per year.
If you claim higher actual costs, you must provide full proof of these costs.
Examples
Your bank charges custody fees for your securities portfolio. These fees are deductible.
You pay a fee for purchasing shares. These costs are not deductible.
Document
You need the tax statement or the fee statement from your bank showing the management costs.
If you claim actual costs, these must be clearly visible in the documentation.
How to add it in iqtax
Open Management Costs and enter the fees according to your tax statement or fee statement.
If you apply the flat rate, it will be calculated automatically.
