Managing Account Settings

Account Settings is your central hub for managing your personal profile, security preferences, keyboard shortcuts, controllers, Studio configuration, billing, and organization details. You can access it from the account menu in the top-right corner of the app.

The settings area is organized into three main sections — Account, Studio, and Organization — each with their own sub-tabs. What you see depends on your role in the Studio.


Accessing Account Settings

Click your avatar and name in the top-right corner of the Iris interface. A dropdown menu appears with:

  • Account Settings (Profile)

  • Security

  • Studio Settings

  • Billing (Admins and Owners only)

  • Organization Settings (if enabled)

  • Hot Keys

  • Controllers

  • Sign Out (at the bottom)

Click any item to jump directly to that section. You can also switch between sections using the tabs at the top of the settings panel.


Account Settings

Profile

Profile Photo

  1. Click Upload Photo to choose an image from your computer.

  2. Accepted formats: PNG or JPG, maximum 3 MB.

  3. Once uploaded, the button changes to Update Photo and a Remove Photo button appears.

While uploading, the button shows "Uploading Photo..." and is temporarily disabled.

Full Name

Edit your name in the text field. Iris splits it into first and last name automatically.

Email

Edit your email address in the text field. Important: Changing your email signs you out immediately. A verification email is sent to the new address — you must verify it before signing back in.

If your email is unverified, you'll see a yellow "Email Unverified" warning below the email field, along with a "Send Again" link to resend the verification email. Iris automatically sends a verification email the first time you sign in with an unverified email.

Delete Account

At the bottom of the Profile tab, click Delete Account. A confirmation dialog appears: "Are you sure you want to delete your account?" Click Delete Account to confirm or Cancel to go back.

Account deletion is permanent. You're immediately signed out and all associated data is removed. This cannot be undone.

Saving Changes

The Save Changes button in the footer is disabled until you make a change. Click it to apply your edits, or Cancel to close without saving.


Security

The Security tab manages your password and two-factor authentication.

Password: Your password is shown as a masked field (dots). Click the "Change" link to open an external page in your browser where you can set a new password.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA):

  • Toggle on → opens an external enrollment page in your browser (scan QR code with any TOTP-compatible authenticator app)

  • Toggle off → 2FA is disabled immediately, no browser step needed

  • If enrollment fails: error notification "Failed to enroll MFA"


Hot Keys

The Hot Keys tab lets you customize keyboard shortcuts for camera controls, recording, tool switching, and more.

  • Use the Categories dropdown to filter shortcuts by type

  • Click on any shortcut to reassign it

  • The footer shows a Save button when you have unsaved changes and indicates whether your shortcuts differ from the defaults


Controllers

The Controllers tab has two sub-tabs:

Gamepads:

  • USB and Bluetooth gamepads appear automatically when connected

  • If none detected: "No Gamepads Detected. Make sure your gamepad is turned on and connected. You may need to push a button to wake it up."

  • Select a gamepad to see a visual diagram with real-time button/stick highlighting and a button mapping table

IP Controllers (Desktop app only):

  • Lists saved IP-based VISCA controllers

  • Click Add IP Controller to connect a new device

  • Click the settings icon on a saved controller to rename or delete

  • On the web version: "IP controllers cannot be managed on web. Please use the Iris application."


Studio Settings

Settings Tab

Studio Name: Edit the name and click Save Changes. Only users with update permissions (Owner/Admin) can edit this field.

Delete Studio: Visible only to users with delete permissions who have more than one Studio. Type the exact confirmation phrase to proceed. Deleting disconnects all devices and restarts the app.

Leave Studio: Visible to all non-Owner members. Removes your membership. The app reloads after you leave.

Billing Tab

Available to Admins and Owners only. Shows:

  • Current plan (Free, Standard, Pro, Enterprise, Custom, NFR), billing frequency, upcoming invoice

  • Change Plan button → plan comparison dialog with Monthly/Yearly toggle

  • Payment Method — view, add, or edit via Stripe portal

  • Cloud Usage — progress bar showing GB used vs. included amount

  • Invoices — past invoices with date, plan, amount, and status

Organization Settings

Available when the Organizations feature is enabled for your account.

  • Organization Logo: Upload PNG or JPG, max 3 MB. Upload, update, or remove.

  • Organization Name, Website, Industry: Editable by users with update permissions. Save Changes to apply.

  • Delete Organization: Visible to users with delete permissions. Type confirmation phrase to proceed. Deleting disconnects all devices across all Studios in the organization and restarts the app.

If you belong to multiple organizations, use the dropdown at the top-right to switch between them.

Limits and Restrictions

  • Profile photo and org logo: PNG or JPG only, max 3 MB per file

  • Email changes: Signs you out immediately, requires verification of the new address

  • Billing access: Admin and Owner only

  • Studio deletion: Requires delete permissions and more than one Studio

  • Organization editing: Requires update permissions

  • Organization deletion: Requires delete permissions — removes all Studios in the organization

  • IP Controllers: Desktop app only — can't add, rename, or remove from the web version

  • Account deletion: Permanent and immediate


What Happens If…

…you change your email? Signed out immediately. Verify the new address before signing back in.

…your email is unverified? Yellow warning on the Profile tab. Click "Send Again" to resend verification.

…you try to delete your only Studio? The "Delete Studio" option doesn't appear.

…you delete your account? Permanently removed, signed out immediately. Cannot be undone.

…you delete an organization? All devices across all Studios in that org are disconnected. App restarts.

…you don't have permission to edit a setting? Fields and buttons are grayed out. You can still view current values.

…you try to manage IP controllers on the web? A notice tells you to use the desktop app.

…2FA enrollment fails? Error notification: "Failed to enroll MFA." Try again.

FAQs

How do I open Account Settings? Click your avatar in the top-right corner, then select any settings option.

Can I change my email address? Yes. Edit it in the Profile tab and Save Changes. You'll be signed out and must verify the new email.

How do I enable 2FA? Security tab → toggle "2FA Enabled" on → complete setup on the external page.

Who can change the billing plan? Admins and Owners only.

How do I delete my account? Profile tab → Delete Account → confirm. Permanent and immediate.

Can I leave a Studio without deleting it? Yes, if you're not the Owner. "Leave Studio" appears in Studio Settings.

What image formats work for photos and logos? PNG and JPG, max 3 MB.

How do I connect a gamepad? Plug in or pair it, then go to Controllers. It should appear automatically. Press a button to wake it.

Can I customize keyboard shortcuts? Yes. Go to Hot Keys, click any shortcut to reassign it.

How do I manage IP controllers? Controllers tab → IP Controllers. Only available in the desktop app.
