Iris v1.0.241
Release Date: May 17, 2026
Improvements
Streaming and Connection Reliability
More reliable WebRTC connections: We improved how local streaming sessions handle connection events to prevent repeated reconnections that could cause the bridge to disconnect mid-session. Connections should now hold more consistently during longer sessions.
Bug Fixes
Install and Upgrade Reliability
Critical Fix: Bridge crash-loops after upgrading from v1.0.226: We fixed an issue where upgrading from v1.0.226 to a newer build could reuse outdated bridge files, causing the bridge to repeatedly crash on launch. Upgrades from v1.0.226 should now complete cleanly and the bridge starts as expected.
Cleaner installs: We fixed an issue where leftover files from previous installations remained in the install path on Windows and Mac. Fresh installs are now cleaner and avoid conflicts with prior versions.
Leftover install files on Windows: We fixed an issue on Windows where files marked for cleanup stayed in the user app data folder after installation or upgrade. These files are now removed as expected.

Improvements
Access and plan limits
Source limits now apply correctly for invited Producers: We fixed an issue where invited Producers could add sources beyond the plan limit. Invited Producers now see a clear "plan limit reached" message when the source cap is reached.
Streaming controls
RTMP outputs now show "Stop Output" in the main control: We fixed an issue where starting an RTMP output didn't update the primary Output button, forcing you to open RTMP settings just to stop the stream. Once RTMP output starts, the main button now switches from Start Output to Stop Output to reflect the active state.
Device experience
Calibration is no longer offered for "Other" camera selections: We no longer show calibration options for sources added as "Other – brand is not listed", preventing common failed calibration flows for unknown devices.
Removed the Linux option from the download flow: We fixed an issue where Linux appeared as a download option even though it isn't supported. The download flow now only shows supported operating systems.
Clearer error when using an old invite after removal: We fixed an issue where accepting an invite link after you'd been removed showed a generic "Something went wrong" message. You'll now see a clearer explanation with a straightforward path back to your workspaces.
Monitoring and alerts
Improved device resource alerts (less noise, more accurate signals): We raised the CPU "Warning" threshold from 85% to 90%, corrected the RAM usage metric shown in the monitoring tray, and added auto-dismiss behavior so pop-up alerts don't pile up on screen.
Camera reboot behavior
Safer camera reboot behavior: Iris takes the most reliable method to reboot your camera first, then falls back to other commands if the initial command for reboot fails.
Driver reliability and consistency
Improved automatic driver selection for VISCA cameras: Iris helps streamline your driver selection for detected partner cameras.
Updated HDKatov VISCA connection settings: We updated HDKatov VISCA configuration so Iris connects using TCP on port 5678.
Automatic detection of reversed pan/tilt axes for VISCA cameras: We added automatic detection for cameras that inherently have inverted pan/tilt direction.
Expanded VISCA parameter support for Canon cameras: We expanded our support which includes Canon Visca-20 bit!
Bug Fixes
Auto-linking and setup
Critical Fix: More reliable auto-linking: Auto-linking now completes more consistently and surfaces failures more clearly so onboarding is less likely to get stuck.

Prevent empty workspace duplication: We fixed an issue where Iris unintentionally created multiple workspaces for the same user.
Stability
Critical Fix: Prevented cascading memory failures triggered by repeated video flickering: We fixed a stability issue seen in high-loss or heavily filtered networks where repeated flickering could trigger a chain reaction — including camera resource exhaustion and, in some cases, steadily increasing memory usage in the Iris desktop app after a device failed. With this update, the system is significantly more resilient to these repeated flicker/failure cycles, reducing freezes, black screens, and app instability during long sessions.
Installation
Clean installs no longer get stuck after login: We fixed an issue where a fresh install could hang on the loading screen after authentication. The launcher process now reliably starts so the app can complete startup as expected.
Iris v1.0.217

More stable video viewer: The video viewer now reconnects more reliably after brief disruptions or when changing focus between windows.
Fewer unnecessary refreshes: The Studio won't reload itself if you're idle but not inside a room, helping you stay focused and uninterrupted.
Stronger background handling: Fixed an issue where the video feed could be lost when switching away from the app and coming back later.
Queued changes are now saved: Updates made before the system fully connects are now properly saved and sent, so nothing is lost during startup or reconnection.

IP Controller Ownership Logic: We refined the logic that determines IP controller ownership at the studio, user, and application levels. These changes prevent misassignment and improve configuration clarity.
Improved RTMP Protocol State Accuracy: We've improved how each RTMP destination reports its status in the UI, ensuring users always see the true state of each output.
Bug Fixes
Iris Enabled Agent Linking in Same Session: We fixed an issue where re-linking an Iris Enabled camera during the same app session required a manual refresh for the device to appear. The app now updates automatically, so the source tray reflects changes without user intervention.
RTMP Destination Button Alignment: We corrected the layout of Save and Cancel buttons in the RTMP destination editor. Redundant buttons were removed, and the remaining ones now align properly with design standards.
RTMP Failure Crash: We resolved a crash that occurred when the RTMP output process failed mid-stream. Studio now handles this failure state gracefully without interrupting the session.
