Link your jack account to Xero to push invoices and payments directly into xero

Updated over a week ago

To link JACK to your Xero account, first navigate to Settings > Accounting Integration.

Next, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Connect To Xero, which will bring up your Xero account. You will be asked to log in using your credentials.

  2. Xero will ask you to choose which organisation you wish to connect to your JACK account. Select the relevant organisation and click on Allow access at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Once the link is created, you will be redirected back to your JACK account, where you must Configure Account Mappings using the Sales and Bills dropdown. Account mapping will tell Jack which account codes in Xero will be used to allocate supplier/subcontractor bills and customer invoices when they are approved for payment (Bills) or scheduled and sent (Client Invoices).

  4. By default, a Sales account begins with 200 (a Revenue account in Xero), and a Bills account begins with 300 (a Direct Costs account in Xero). You can review which account to use by navigating in Xero to Accounting > Chart of Accounts on the top menu.

  5. If you wish to create a new account, you can either create the new account in Xero or in JACK. To create the account in JACK click the Sales or Bills dropdown menu > click Create New Account in Xero, and you will be asked to enter the new account code and account name. Click Save and the new account will be added to your Xero file.

Note: The linked account is a global setting. All client invoices will be allocated to the linked sales account, and all bills will be allocated to the linked bills account.
