Set charge-out rates

To set charge out rates for a particular staff member, navigate to Contacts > Staff > select the relevant staff member > and click on Charge Out Rates. You can then type in the dollar amounts for standard charge out rates as well as set different rates under each of the charge out rate categories.

To create new charge out rate categories, navigate to Settings > Data Setup > Charge Out Rate Categories. You can then add a new category by typing in the text box at the bottom and click on + Charge Out Rate Category. You can also change the order for how the categories are display by selecting the = icon on the left and dragging the category up or down.

Set hourly cost rates for staff members.

To set a staff member's hourly cost, Navigate to Contacts > Staff > Details. Below the Xero Employee subheading, click on the relevant employee. If the relevant employee cannot be found, you need to add them to Xero under Payroll settings, and then sync to Xero by clicking on the blue refresh icon.

Once you select the employee from the drop-down click on Save.
