Creating Schedule Templates

Create reusable schedule templates and import them into any job to save time setting up your project schedule.

Written by Cara

If you find yourself building out the same schedule structure for every new job, schedule templates can save you a lot of setup time. Create a template once, then bring it into any job's schedule whenever you need it.

Overview

Navigate to Templates > Schedule Templates > . Then give your Schedule Template a unique name.

On the Details tab of your new schedule template, notice it is automatically set to Draft status. Change the status to Published for it to be available for use in jobs.

ℹ️ For guidance on building out the individual schedule items within your template, see the related articles below on creating and customizing schedule items.

Using a schedule template in a job

Once you've built a template, you can import it directly into an existing job's schedule.

  1. Navigate to the relevant Job > Project Management > Schedule.

  2. Click the down arrow next to + Item.

  3. Select Use Schedule Template.

  4. Choose the Start Date for the schedule and Template Name you'd like to use.

ℹ️ Use the Auto Link Schedule Items toggle to keep items linked together. Then, edit the date of one item and the rest of the schedule will shift to align with it.

ℹ️ Importing a template adds its items to the job's schedule, it does not overwrite any existing schedule items already on that job.
