Updated over a month ago

Description

AirPrint is an Apple technology that helps you create full-quality printed output without the need to download or install drivers. This article will provide information on creating and deploying a custom profile in Jamf Now to configure AirPrint for managed devices.

Creating a Custom Profile for AirPrint

  1. Confirm your printer supports AirPrint.

  2. Connect your AirPrint printer to a Wi-Fi network following your printer's instructions or see Connect an AirPrint printer to a Wi-Fi network.

  3. Create an AirPrint custom profile using iMazing.

    1. Use iMazing Profile Editor to create an AirPrint custom profile.

      1. Name the profile under the General tab in iMazing.

      2. Enter IP-Address, Port, and Resource Path for the Printer(s).

      3. If configuring multiple printers, click the "+" for each Printer you want to deploy.

      4. If desired, check the box to force Transport Layer Security (TLS). Note: 'Port' and 'Force TLS' are available only in iOS 11.0 and later

      5. Click File > Save As to save the profile to your Computer.

  4. Upload the AirPrint custom profile into Jamf Now under Blueprints > Custom Profiles in Jamf Now.

  5. Once the profile has installed, test using AirPrint on devices.
