Renew VPP token in Jamf Pro

Updated over 2 months ago

Description

Your Volume Purchasing token (also known as the VPP, Service, or Apps & Books token) from Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager expires yearly. If expired, Jamf Pro will not be able to sync content licenses.

This article provides steps to renew an expired/expiring VPP Token in Jamf Pro to ensure your app deployments are not interrupted.

Renewing the Volume Purchasing Token

  1. Login to Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager.

  2. Click the username on the bottom left of the page and click Preferences from the menu that pops-up.

  3. Click Payments and Billing.

  4. Scroll down to the "My Server Token Section" and download the token for the location.

  5. In Jamf Pro, go to Settings > Global > Volume purchasing.

  6. Click into the location to renew and click Edit.

  7. Click Renew Service Token, select Choose File to select the .vpptoken file downloaded previously, and click Upload.

  8. Click Save.
