Technical Data is an Enterprise Feature
Enterprise users now have the ability to enter technical data for items within Jetbuilt. You can use this data for specifying products and designing the best solutions for your clients.
Exposing Technical Data fields
Using the builder column options, you can select which Technical Data fields you would like to see. Within the Builder area of a project, click "Edit Columns" and you will see the Technical Fields.
You can select: Warranty, Rack Units, Power Consumption (Watts), PoE Load, Heat (BTU), Weight, or Physical Size (Height, Width, Depth)
Each user can select the system of units that values will be displayed in. You can choose to show values in Imperial Units or Metric Units. All Technical Fields will display in that system's units. You can change how you see them at any time.
After you have selected the fields you want to work with, click Save.
Entering Technical Data
Now the Technical Data fields will display for all new and existing line items in the Builder view. You will be able to view, add, or edit those fields per line item.
1. To enter data, click "Edit Items" in the top right corner, or below the last line item in the Builder view.
2. You can enter data in whichever units you have available. Enter the value in the field provided, then use the dropdown menu to select the units. Upon saving, the units will be converted to the viewing selection you made previously, either Imperial or Metric.
For example, if you are viewing "Metric" but you enter an item's weight in pounds (lb), after you save the item, the value will display in kg. The next time you click "Edit Items", you will see the value in kg in the "Edit Items" modal.
3. If an item has multiple values, the maximum value should be entered as a standard. For example, if an item's Power Consumption is < 35W, then 35 is the correct value. If an item lists 17.5" without rack ears, and 19.0" with rack ears, 19.0" is the correct value.
User Data will be collected by Jetbuilt and shared within the Jetbuilt Community
At launch, and while we are waiting on manufacturers to populate Technical Fields, we will accelerate the process of populating our technical library by crowd-sourcing, using the technical data entries made by all Jetbuilt users.
After data is added to our technical library, this data will immediately populate to all instances of a product, meaning any instance of a product in your current project, or other existing projects.
We are excited to have this community-supported tool! In the future, we will be gathering data from product manufacturers and updating our technical library with manufacturer-provided data.

Data Summation for Ease of Use
1. To help you use the technical data effectively, Jetbuilt will automatically sum the individual elements in a Bundle to display a total Bundle value for RU, Watts, BTU, and Weight for the Bundle. Since they are a calculation, the total bundle fields are not editable. You can change those values by editing the individual line items within the bundle.
2. You will also find the total RU, Watts, BTU, and Weight for your specific Room and System combination below the last line item in Builder. The total will be based on the Room/System filter that you are using on the left.
For example, if you select All Rooms/All Systems, then the total RU, Watts, BTU, and Weight for you entire project will display. If you choose only Room A and System B, for example, then only the items in that Room and System combination will display.
3. Technical data is entered for the individual item in the "Edit Items" modal. However, the item quantity will be used to calculate technical data values displayed in the Builder Items views. For example, if you have a quantity 5, and a product's RU is 3, you will see 15 RU for that line item in the Builder items view.
Editing Existing Data
After you have saved the data for a line item the first time, that data will be stored and shared with the Jetbuilt Community. Subsequent additions ("Saves") or changes ("Edits") to an item's technical data will not be saved to the database - they will only apply to that specific instance of an item in that specific project.
If you have made an update to an item and want to save the changes to the database, you can do so by using the Push/Pull feature.
Saving Changes to Existing Data in Your Company Database for Future Use
Using the PUSH/PULL tool, you can save any project level additions or modifications to an item's technical data.
After PUSHING any changes to an item's technical data, those changes will reside in your company database. You can also PULL them into an instance of this item in another project. The values saved in your company database will also be used when you add an instance of the item to any project in the future.
You can see what technical data is available for an item by clicking on that item in your Company Database, within Vendors > All Products > (Company Name). There you can search and find all items that are in your Company Database. As a reminder, your company data is the list of all items that have been used on Projects within your company.
Please take care with any edits made to the technical data in your Company Database. Both values and units are editable and need to match for your data to remain accurate.
