The QuickBooks Desktop integration allows for syncing line items and time spent working on those line items between Jetpack Workflow and QuickBooks Desktop. This is a manual process that involves importing and exporting IIF files between the two systems to keep everything in sync.
IMPORTANT!!! Your client list and employee names in Jetpack must exactly match your client list and employee names in QuickBooks Desktop. If it doesn't, you will have duplicate entries. IMPORTANT!!!
1. Export your line items from QuickBooks Desktop and import them into Jetpack
a. Watch this video to download a file containing your line items from QuickBooks
Desktop
b. Log into Jetpack, hover over your name in the top right and click Settings
c. Click the Integration subtab to upload the IIF file of line items into our system
d. Once the items are in our system, you will need to map those line items to
the relevant jobs
e. For example, if you have a 1040 line item, you want your 1040 jobs to have the
line item selected
f. Click to the right of any job to zoom in, then click the name of the job at the
top of the screen to go to the foundations page
g. You will see the QuickBooks Desktop line item selector on the bottom right. It looks
like this
h. Select the appropriate line item
IMPORTANT!!! You must map the appropriate service line item to the job inside Jetpack. If it's not mapped, you will receive an error message when it comes time to import your time from Jetpack to QuickBooks Desktop. IMPORTANT!!!
2. Use the timers in Jetpack
a. You will need to use the timers in Jetpack to store your time data
b. Check out our timer article here
3. Take the time data from Jetpack and import it into QuickBooks Desktop
a. Once you have the data stored in our system, we will need to transfer it to your
QuickBooks Desktop application
b. In Jetpack, click the Reports tab in the top middle of the screen
i. The third one down looks like this and is the one you want
c. Then download the IIF file for the time span you wish
i. This will contain all of the time data you uploaded to our system mapped to the relevant line item because you set up the jobs
d. You will need to follow this article to find your "COMPANYCREATETIME"
e. From there, you can upload the IIF file by clicking File > Utilities > Import > and Timer Utilities
f. Select your file and upload
4. Voilà! Your time spent in Jetpack should be pushed into QuickBooks Desktop
